Flatiron District. Union Square. City residents enjoying a nice, if slightly hot, day in the park. Actually, there is no much else left for them to do - the date is August 15th and there is no power anywhere in Lower Manhattan. At least the trees provide some shade. The massive blackout of August-2003 was the biggest in U.S. history. Many blamed energy deregulation for it.
