Downtown Express reports that Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer rejected Time Equities' massive hotel and condo project proposal for 50 West St - officially, due to lack of any "substantial investment in affordable housing". The rejection is only advisory, but it is expected to have an impact on the pending City Council approval which would be necessary for the project to proceed.

The Real Deal is reporting that the area around the WTC site is being increasinly filled with condo and rental buildings. They cite several recently opened buildings - e.g. the 450-unit Greenwich Club, the 400-unit 90 West Street, and the 410-unit 90 W, as examples. Reportedly, 18 West St is going to be the next rental development in the area.
