Neighborhood Profile

Location: Flushing is a neighborhood in Central Queens, bounded roughly by 20th Avenue to the north, Parsons Boulevard to the east and Kissena Corridor Park to the south. Its western border is somewhat irregular: it pretty much follows the East River / Flushing Bay shoreline, save for a few blocks that belong to neighboring College Point. Character: Flushing is the more densely built up part of the 7th Community District of Queens: except on its western fringe, which contains a manufacturing zone, most of its buildings are classified as multi-apartment housing. That stands in contrast to the rest of the Community District, dominated by small one- and two-family residential buildings.
