Neighborhood Profile

Location: North-western Brooklyn. Brooklyn Heights is located directly across the East River from Lower Manhattan's Financial District. Demographics: The neighborhood is predominantly middle class. Given the convenience of getting to and from Downtown Manhattan and, particularly, the Financial District, Brooklyn Heights is popular with Wall Streeters.

Apartments & Real Estate

Apart from a handful of high-rises on main streets (mostly in the northern part of the neighborhood), Brooklyn Heights' most representative building type is the brownstone -- typically, a three- or four-story one. A few stately mid-rise elevator buildings complete the picture.
