Sub-divisions: The southern portion of Riverdale is sometimes considered to be a separate neighborhood (Spuyten Duyvil).

Demographics: The population of Riverdale is about 46,000 (2000 Census). Most residents are middle- and upper-middle class. Riverdale is perhaps the most affluent neighborhood in the Bronx.
