Trump World Tower

DESCRIPTION

An 860-foot-tall residential building, designed to appear as if sheathed in a single sheet of glass. Apartments ranging in size from one bedroom to six-plus bedroom.

OUR COMMENTS

At the time of its construction in the early 2000's, this was the tallest residential tower in the world (in 2003 a Dubai tower took that title away from TWT). The project was very controversial and was opposed by many powerful figures living in the neighborhood. In the end, however, Donald Trump prevailed. The tower is now considered part of New York skyline. Most people now agree that doesn't really overpower other buildings in the area thanks to its rather slim design.
