Historical Notes

At the time of its construction in the early 2000's, the Trump World Tower was the tallest residential tower in the world (in 2003, a Dubai tower took that title away from the TWT). The project was very controversial from the start and was opposed by many powerful figures living in the neighborhood. In the end, however, Donald Trump prevailed, the building was approved and built. The tower is now considered part of New York skyline and most people would probably agree that, thanks to its rather slim design, it does not really overpower other buildings in the area.
