Lower East Side. View of Downtown/Midtown Manhattan from Brooklyn Bridge. Beyond the bridge wires you can see the south-eastern portion of the Lower East Side which consist uniformly of dark red buildings. Practically all of them are public housing projects - they are owned and managed by NYCHA.
