First Luxury Hotel in HarlemPosted 02/Aug/2007 08:20:00 by Gromco in Central Harlem, Handel Architects LLP The Observer reports on Reisman Properties' plans to develop the first luxury hotel in Harlem. The company is going break ground in August on a new hotel which will along Fifth Ave between 125th and 126th Street. The hotel, designed by Handel Architects, will have around 250 rooms. If the initiative gets approved by the commissioners in a vote later this year, 55 buildings in the roughly 15-square-block area will be granted landmark status which would strictly limit alterations to the existing buildings and the type and style of any new proposed developments.
