LPC Clears Way for Nouvel's MoMA Tower

Jean Nouvel's 75-story hotel-condo planned for 53 West 53rd street has been cleared by the Landmark Preservation Commission, The Real Deal has reported.

Midtown Parking Rates Hit Record Levels

NY Post reports that monthly parking rates have reached record levels: the median monthly midtown parking rate has hit $630, with some garages charging rates approaching $1,000. This is the most expensive neighborhood to park in the U.S. (Downtown Manhattan being the second most expensive area).

Condos on top of Russian Tea Room

NY Post is [reporting] that

"The owner of the Russian Tea Room plans to build a luxury residential high-rise atop the famed eatery, which shut down in 2002."

Apparently, just 17 apartments will take up no less than 29 floors (some will have a second level).
