A 28-story luxury rental building offering studios and a choice of 1- through 4-bedroom apartment layouts. The building was designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon Associates and the similarities with the Empire State Building are not coincidental - the same firm designed both. Originally an office building, 99 John has been converted into luxury rentals in 1999. The marble lobby displays original murals by Italian artist Giancarlo Impiglia.

Historical Notes

Built in 1932-1933 as the home of the Insurance Company of North America. It later housed the American International Group, which left at the end of 1997, relocating to several different downtown offices.
